The Saddleback women's volleyball team won its seventh straight match with a 3-0 victory over Santiago Canyon College on Monday night inside the gymnasium. The Bobcats will play rival Irvine Valley on Friday.
Saddleback was playing a Santiago Canyon squad with just six players on the team and zero wins for the season, so it seemed likely that the Bobcats were going to get a win from the outset. Saddleback made quick work of the undermanned Hawks, sweeping past them in just over an hour.
Saddleback opened up big leads in every set and had an opportunity to get a bunch of fresh jerseys into the lineup. The Bobcats rolled 25-10, 25-12, 25-15 in improving to 10-2 overall and 6-0 in Orange Empire Conference play.
It is the fourth straight season that Saddleback has had a seven-game winning streak. The last time Saddleback had a streak longer than seven games was in 2016 when it won nine straight matches.
Saddleback will play at rival Irvine Valley College on Friday. The Bobcats and Lasers are scheduled to start at 6:00 PM in Irvine.
